INSERT TOWN NAME HERE - Your group will participate in a nationwide campaign to teach parents and children how to make their Internet experience both rewarding and safe, in an event held on add date.

This event is part of America Links Up: A Kids Online Teach-In, a campaign to encourage and support educational events in communities across the country. The campaign was kicked off in Washington, DC, during National Kids Online Week in September 1998, and its sponsors will continue to support hundreds of local events during the next school year. America Links Up is sponsored by major corporations and scores of educational and non-profit organizations. A complete listing of sponsors and supporters accompanies this release.

"Kids across the country use the Internet every day to research subjects for school and for fun and communication. Parents and teachers need to work together to ensure that this new medium is rewarding and safe for our kids," said YOUR SPOKESPERSON.

Participants in the insert name of your group event will learn about:

  • Internet basics,
  • tools that promote a safe and rewarding online experience,
  • good quality "content" on the Internet and how to use it, and
  • ways to safely navigate around the Internet.

The event will be held on add date and time, at add location. It is open to add desired audience (parents, teachers, kids, etc.)

Add paragraph describing event.

Teach-in participants will also be given tips for Internet use and are encouraged to discuss these tips with children.
